Welcome to Humanists Doing Good!
We are a nonprofit and nonreligious community of compassionate and rational people doing good for the sake of good. We are people learning, socializing and volunteering together. We are always looking for more people to join our cause and invite you to learn more about our organization and our beliefs. You just may be surprised to learn that great minds such as Albert Einstein have shared our vision.
Humanists Doing Good focuses on improving our lives by improving the lives of others.
The first meeting of Humanists Doing Good took place on Sept. 24, 2011 and felt like a terrific success. We would like to thank all the participants. A very diverse group of people met to learn more about the organization and to discuss their own ideas about what could be done in the future. It was clear that despite the various backgrounds people had, there was a common interest in doing good for others and promoting a humanist lifestance. The meeting began with presentations about the goals, methods and identity of Humanists Doing Good. Later everyone was invited to learn more about one another and to share ideas. It was decided that we would arrange for a potluck in the near future to get to know each other better and to provide people with an opportunity to invite new people to learn about the organization. Everyone is encouraged to share information about Humanists Doing Good with others so that we can further increase our numbers and our ability to have a positive impact in our community. We'll be contacting people with information about the planned potluck soon. We are hoping to also have this be an opportunity for our first improvisational good deed.
Humanists Doing Good will be holding its first meeting September 24th. Invitational letters have been mailed to several people providing the time and location of the meeting. If you did not receive a letter, but believe you may be interested in attending or would like additional information, please feel free to contact us.
Currently Humanists Doing Good is busy establishing itself as a nonprofit organization in western Colorado. It is also in the process of establishing itself as an official chapter of the American Humanist Association. Anyone interested in participating during this founding period is invited to make contact. We are eager to make contact with people like yourself who may be interested in volunteering to do good deeds. We'd also love to hear your general input and ideas.
