Welcome to Humanists Doing Good!
We are a nonprofit and nonreligious community of compassionate and rational people doing good for the sake of good. We are people learning, socializing and volunteering together. We are always looking for more people to join our cause and invite you to learn more about our organization and our beliefs. You just may be surprised to learn that great minds such as Albert Einstein have shared our vision.
Humanists Doing Good focuses on improving our lives by improving the lives of others.
There will not be a meeting on January 15th. We had been trying to coordinate with an existing Martin Luther King Jr. Day event, but were unable to find one that we felt it would be suitable for our group to paricipate in. This has caused us to make it a priority to support Martin Luther King Jr. Day in full force next year.
We are continuing to work on having the Grand Junction Police Department's Homeless Outreach Team and a currently homeless person to guest speak on Januarry 22nd. Once everything is confirmed we will send out notice to everyone via email.
Humanists Doing Good will be meeting Sunday at 10:00 am in the Mesa Mall Community Room to reconnect with one another and move into the new year. The overall theme of the meeting will be promoting equality in the Grand Valley. We will be discussing ways that our organization can promote equality and potentially raise awareness of inequality in our area. We will also have some discussion about possible plans for Martin Luther King Jr. Day. Everyone is encouraged to bring their own ideas about promoting equality or raising awareness of inequality to discuss.
Since we have had several new people join since our last official meeting, we would like to provide the opportunity to get to know each other better. Time will be set aside for answering any questions new or existing members may have.
Everyone is invited to bring a brunch item to share if they would like (not required) and we will be providing coffee.
