Welcome to Humanists Doing Good!

We are a nonprofit and nonreligious community of compassionate and rational people doing good for the sake of good. We are people learning, socializing and volunteering together. We are always looking for more people to join our cause and invite you to learn more about our organization and our beliefs. You just may be surprised to learn that great minds such as Albert Einstein have shared our vision.

Humanists Doing Good focuses on improving our lives by improving the lives of others.

    June 1st, 2012 - Relay For Life

Humanists Doing Good has been raising money for the Relay For Life taking place at the Fruita 8-9 School on June 1st. Opening ceremonies begin at 6:00 pm and the event lasts until 8:00 am on June 2nd. We're setting up a 50s science fiction campsite, relaying all night long, playing 50s sci-fi movies, raising some additional funds to help in the fight against cancer, enjoying some pop rocks and partaking in the festivities. We invite everyone to come out and visit our campsite and to see what all the other relay teams have done for the event. The night is filled with different events almost every half hour. If you would like to make a last minute contribution to our team, you can donate at: http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR?team_id=1118256&pg=team&fr_id=38151

    July 21st, 2012 - Colorado Secular Conference

Humanists Doing Good is hosting the inaugural Colorado Secular Conference located in Grand Junction on July 21st. We invite you to join us for this unique opportunity. The conference is sponsored by the Colorado Coalition of Reason and funding making it possible is being provided by the United Coalition of Reason. Admission is free, though donations will be accepted. We also invite you to join us on an optional tour of the awe-inspiring Colorado National Monument and for some wine tasting the day after the conference. Our goal is to allow secular/nonreligious people from around the region to meet one another, share ideas, and to learn from several different speakers on a variety of topics. There will also be a free three hour seminar/workshop offered that focuses on building and growing secular groups. The conference is a golden opportunity for secularists, Humanists, atheists, agnostics, freethinkers and others to come together and make their presence known in an organized fashion. It is also a chance for curious members of the community to come and learn about the secular movement, its supporters, and to also learn about important issues that affect us all like the Patriot Act.

For more information, please visit the Colorado Secular Conference webpage at the following address:

We are happy to answer any questions you might have. Seating is limited, so we encourage early reservation online at the conference's website to reserve any desired seats for you or your group’s members at the conference and for the optional tour. We ask that you please notify us of any cancellations so that we can free up seats for others to attend.

If you have a group planning to participate, please let us know so that we can include your group on our list of participating groups. We are very willing to add a link to your website as well.

We look forward to seeing you!

    May 27th, 2012 - Potluck & Sci-Fi Building Party

Humanists Doing Good will be having a Potluck and Sci-Fi Building Party to support our Relay for Life Team. EVERYONE is invited and asked to bring an dish to share. We could also use any materials or things you think you might be able to contribute toward building a 50s Science Fiction themed campsite. Be thinking of things like blocky robots, flying saucers, old sci-fi creatures, etc.

Some of the things we will be doing:
    - Talk about how the Relay event actually runs
    - Make AWESOME stuff for our campsite
    - Make a list of who can contribute what to our campsite (cooler, snacks, tent, etc...)
    - Eat killer potluck food

Come help us make cool sci-fi stuff! Bring your supplies!

Location: Sherwood Park in Grand Junction
    Time: Noon - 2:00pm
