Visit With Us

Would you like to personally meet with staff or members of Humanists Doing Good? There are several ways to do this. We typically meet on a weekly basis and nearly all of our events are open to the public unless otherwise noted. We are happy to talk to you about our organization, what we do, what we believe, and would love for you to be introduced to some of our members. You can feel free to simply show up without prior notice, though it can be helpful to us to join our meetup group and RSVP to an event so we can plan accordingly. Please feel welcome to tell people at any gathering that you're new and we'll be happy to answer questions and introduce everyone to each other.

Yet another way you can get to know more about our organization and its members is to contact us and volunteer for an upcoming good deed. We encourage anyone in the community to volunteer to do good deeds and this is a great way to introduce yourself to us and to speak to our members while they are in the process of doing a portion of what we're best known for doing. Volunteering allows you the chance to see the hands on approach we take and to see the smiles we can all bring to the lives of others, no strings attached. As a volunteer doing a good deed, there are also no strings attached for you. You can simply participate in doing a good deed and then go about the rest of your life knowing that you helped make somebody's life a little better or helped remedy some situation.

We realize that sometimes it can be difficult to approach a new group of people and for that reason, we also encourage you to request an individual meeting with a representative of Humanists Doing Good if you prefer. This allows you to meet with a representative privately at a time of your choosing to have any questions you might have answered. It is helpful if you can provide us with some of the topics you would like us to address when we meet with you so that we can send a representative who can best address these topics. We also understand that sometimes people are facing life transitions or may be in situations which otherwise require some discretion. We are quite aware that sometimes having differing views and ways of thinking compared to some family members or the broader community can often be daunting. We do our best to work with you under such circumstances and our representatives are very compassionate and understanding of the challenges you may be facing.

You can use the Contact Us link on our website to let us know about you and your situation and to find out how to visit with us in the manner of your choosing. Remember that becoming a dues-paying member is absolutely not required to participate in our events, to start getting to know people and to learn more about Humanists Doing Good.

We understand that attending a first event or requesting an individual first meeting can be intimidating to some, but we want you to know that you'll be welcomed and we absolutely don't mind answering questions you may have. We're eager to meet you and to get to know you.
