Step One: Decide if you want to become a dues-paying member or not at this time.

Annual dues help us fund our organization and the activities we do. For just $35 a year or $50 a year for a family, you will be able to participate in and support nearly weekly events. We typically offer at least four events per month that include educational opportunities, outdoor adventures, social activities and volunteer opportunities. Dues-paying members receive our yellow volunteer shirts with membership, obtain membership voting rights and also gain some perks like discounts on some events and priority placement in limited capacity events such as rafting trips. Click the Join Us link in the menu if you'd like to become a member at this time. If you are not a member, you can still participate in most of our events.


Step Two: Join our Meetup group.

We use Meetup.com as a primary method of informing everyone about our upcoming events and it is the RSVP system that we use. You can RSVP to volunteer, to attend an educational gathering, a hike or any of our other activities via our meetup site. Joining our meetup group is free, but you will need to register an account on meetup before you can RSVP to our event. It is much harder to stay informed and participate in our events if you do not participate in our meetup group. You can then view our upcoming events and click on the RSVP button to let us know you plan to come to events.

Step Three: We will soon welcome you and request your email address (unless you've already provided it).

We request your email address so that we can add you to our mailing list. We use this list to send out important notices and to send out our monthly email newsletters. As an official Chapter of the American Humanist Association, we are also required to submit basic contact information of our members on a yearly basis. You can opt out of this.


Step Four: Join us for an event.

Review our meetup site for any and all events you would like to attend. The more people we have participating on a regular basis, the more we we can do.


Step Five (optional): Consider joining our Facebook group.

We invite you to join our facebook group, but it is much more optional than joining our meetup group. We use facebook to share interesting articles, to have brief discussions, to bounce ideas around, etc. It's mainly a place for some virtual social interaction with one another.
