You will find a variety of dishes/recipes below (Thanks to Mary!) that you can choose from or you can use your own recipe. We ask that you please let us know what you plan to bring so that we can make sure we have all of the basics covered (feel free to post a comment with your dish on meetup or otherwise contact us).

Where: Garden Room at The Commons - 625 27 1/2 Road (park at the rear parking lot and enter through the external Garden Room entrance)

Sept. 27th, 2015 - Hike the Fall Colors on Grand Mesa

This hike will be around several lakes and through aspen and spruce forests. It's called a "pretty easy hike" and we plan to go a round trip distance of about four miles. It's a mostly-flat hike on an easy trail with a few areas of hills and rocks but nothing difficult. The altitude is more of a challenge than the trail itself. The trail follows the West Bench of the mesa all the way to the top of Powderhorn, but we don't plan to go that far. There are lots of aspen groves, so it should be pretty in late September, so bring a camera!

We plan to park at the free Jumbo Reservoir parking area, which has restrooms. Then we will shuttle people up to the trailhead around the corner so people won't have to pay.

Be prepared for it to be either very hot, or cold, and bring rain gear just in case. Binoculars might be nice to have as well.

When: Sunday, September 27th at 9:00 am

Where: Jumbo Lake Parking Lot which is just before the Mesa Lakes Recreation Area

Sept. 24th, 2015 - Movie Night: Marjoe

The Academy-Award-winning Marjoe is the ferocious and extraordinary chronicle of a firebrand evangelical preacher who wholeheartedly and humorously exposes himself as a fraud. In this revealing documentary, Southern evangelist Marjoe Gortner allows the filmmakers to record him swindling people out of money. Raised to be a child preacher on the revival-tent circuit, Gortner made a small fortune for his parents. Later, he began preaching on his own in a lively, rock star-influenced style, but, since he lacked actual religious faith, money became his sole motivator. As he stages his final revival tour, Marjoe provides a rare glimpse inside the business of evangelism.

We will use remaining time after the film for discussion. You are welcome to bring any food or drinks you may like to have available.

When: Thursday, September 24th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Where: Garden Room at The Commons (625 27 1/2 Road - park at the rear of the building and enter through the external Garden Room entrance)
