Welcome To Humanists Doing Good!
We are a nonprofit community of compassionate and rational people doing good for the sake of good. We are always looking for more people to join our cause and invite you to learn more about our organization and our beliefs. You just may be surprised to learn that great minds such as Albert Einstein have shared our vision.
Humanists Doing Good focuses on improving our lives by improving the lives of others.
June 6th, 2013 - Kumare

Kumare is a documentary about a man deciding to impersonate a wise Indian guru and building a following of real people in Arizona. It contains a healthy mix of humor and deeply emotional moments. It is also a film that can offer many lessons to a wide variety of people. The film is not rated, but does contain some adult-oriented content. We'll use any remaining time after the film for discussion and to share our insights.
When: Thursday, June 6th at 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm
Where: Wraps on Main (150 West Main Street, GJ)
This event is intended for participants of Humanists Doing Good only and is not open to the general public.

June 2nd, 2013 - Flying Spaghetti Monster Madness

Wondering what the heck is this Flying Spaghetti Monster thing all about? And what is this thing called "pastafarianism" anyway? Well, we'd love to have you join us for an evening of excellent spaghetti, meatballs, and madness to find out (and yes, we'll have vegetarian sauce too). We'll be cooking up some delicious food, learning about the Flying Spaghetti Monster and playing some games. Pirate themed items/costumes are welcomed as well (feel free to ask why) and we'll probably do a pirate-related activity or two. Believe it or not, the Flying Spaghetti Monster actually has relevance to the debates surrounding evolution and creationism and we'll be learning about that as well. If you have ideas for the gathering, we'd love to hear them. Children and guests are welcome to attend. We'll be asking everyone to help out by bringing a dish to share. If you would like to make any of the following to help out, please contact us and let us know. We'll not be able to count on having electricity at the park this time around, so we'll be trying to eat promptly while everything is warm. We may have a fire source to help warm things up, but let's not count on it currently.
When: Sunday, June 2nd at 5:00 pm
Where: Canyon View Park (near the playground)
Click here to RSVP on our meetup.com site (free account required).

May 21st, 2013 - UniversiTea: Stereotypes & Terrorism

Join Humanists Doing Good for an evening of philosophical discussion about the topics of terrorism and stereotypes. What is UniversiTea? UniversiTea is an opportunity to discuss challenging topics in detail and we try to let the discussion go wherever it chooses. We try to create a comfortable and relaxed environment while tackling philosophical topics that usually require time to fully explore. Food and drink will be available for purchase if you are interested.
